MISSION STATEMENT

Sheboygan Falls Chamber-Main Street is a not-for-profit, volunteer-driven organization working to enhance the quality of life in Sheboygan Falls and make it a better place to live, work, and do business.   Chamber-Main Street will foster the planned growth of the entire community through the recruitment and retention of commerce and industry, revitalization of the downtown business district, promotion of retail and tourist activities, and improvement of the area's overall visual quality.

WHAT IS SHEBOYGAN FALLS CHAMBER-MAIN STREET?

Sheboygan Falls Chamber-Main Street combines the Chamber of Commerce and the Main Street Program.  Membership includes downtown and outlying area retailers, service professionals, industry, property owners, and concerned citizens.

HOW DOES CHAMBER-MAIN STREET WORK FOR YOU?

Chamber-Main Street brings together business people and civic groups for projects, that benefit you and the community.  We work with the City to identify and provide services that are necessary for business growth and  the well being of the community.  We partner with the City to undertake large improvement projects such as Settlers Park and the Monroe Street Parking Lot. These are projects that neither group could accomplish alone.

CHAMBER-MAIN STREET GIFT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM     
Since these certificates can only be redeemed at member businesses.  This gives you a unique Customer Source.  You receive FULL VALUE for the certificate when you return it to us for payment.  Last year more than $15,000
in certificates were sold and 65% of the purchases made were for more than the face value of the certificate.

 Our MEMBERSHIP BROCHURE is distributed at forty locations throughout Sheboygan Falls and Sheboygan County.  Only member businesses are listed.   This is an excellent opportunity to bring you name recognition for future customers.

Chamber-Main Street is on the alert for laws, rules and regulations that could affect your business, and is committed to bringing them to your attention.

Chamber-Main Street works to retain our existing industry base, and recruits new business to the area.  We maintain a database of all available commercial and industrial properties and work create new markets and stimulate trade.  We work to improve the overall visual appearance of the city by developing plans for beautification streetscapes projects.  We are working with the City to promote a new expanded Industrial Park proposal.

Chamber-Main Street replies to hundreds of inquiries about Sheboygan Falls, and about your business, on an annual basis.  We sell the community, your business products and your services to people everywhere through marketing materials and our business and civic organization directory.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Sheboygan Falls Chamber-Main Street is governed by a 12-member Board of Directors representing the retail, service, industrial and citizen sectors of the Sheboygan Falls community.  Board members are elected to three-year terms by the Chamber-Main Street membership-at-large.  Current members include: President, John Blattner; Vice-President, Brian Passehl; Secretary/Treasurer, Jim Kerwin; Past-President, Steve Schmitt; and members Lee Gumm, Dr. Christine Tempas, Mike Kennedy, Lynn Messer, Sharon Hall, Dorothy Schueffner Joyce Hackel and Jim Fasse.

STAFF
Sheboygan Falls Chamber-Main Street staff consists of Executive Director, Nancy Verstrate and Program Assistant Shirl Breunig who help manage the work of the organization's committees and provide direct member services.

COMMITTEES

Design Committee
Goal:  To improve the visual quality of Sheboygan Falls through activities including facade renovations, streetscape improvements, and landscaping.

Economic Restructuring Committee
Goal:  To encourage commercial and service firms to maintain & expand their operations in Sheboygan Falls and to attract new business that will diversify and expand the city's economic base.  Main activities: Recruitment of businesses to fill downtown building vacancies, development and marketing of the city's Highway 32 corridor.

Industrial Committee
Goal:  To retain and encourage the expansion of the city's existing manufacturing base and to attract new industry that will diversify and expand the city's economic base.  Main activities include industrial retention visits, representing industry needs and concerns to the city's Economic Development Committee.

Membership & Development Committee
Goal:  To maintain a strong organization through education and involvement from a growing number of members and supporters.  Programs include annual meeting, volunteer recruitment and recognition, Business Connections, business ribbon-cuttings and various public relations activities.

Promotions Committee
Goal:  To promote Sheboygan Falls as a center of retail activity through the sponsorship of cooperative advertising and special events.  In addition the Chamber-Main Street staff handle visitor requests, development of community marketing materials, and image advertising in local, regional and state publications.

Tourism Committee
Goal: 
Establish Sheboygan Falls as a vacation destination whether for the day, weekend or week.  Be of assistance to visiting tourists and business people who come to Sheboygan Falls.
